My name is Liz Stevens, I am 34 and I live with my husband Jason, my two children Ruben, who attends Banks Road Infant and Nursery School (age 6) and Betsy (age 4), our 2 cats, a dozen fish and 4 chickens (don’t worry they live in the garden). We moved to Toton in 2006 and remain here still as we love the community feel of the village. I achieved a First Class Honours degree in Food and Nutrition at Nottingham Trent University and worked in pensions during this time to pay the bills etc. We adore children so decided to have our own who I care for full time; I love and cherish them so much, they make every day special, exciting and different.
I have always wanted to work with children and it was always my intention to become a childminder when my own children reached 2+ to enable me to care for my own and for others in our home environment. I am passionate about children, and encouraging the development as they grow.
I understand what an emotional roller-coaster it can be finding the right person to look after your little ones as I did choosing a preschool for my own. Having four years experience of bringing my own children up, a degree in Food and Nutrition, my Paediatric First Aid certificate, OFSTED Registered and an understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, I feel I can teach them and help them to develop and grow into happy confident children, in a safe and caring environment.
I am a friendly, open person and very approachable. I will be happy to discuss any aspect of your child’s care and always provide day to day updates, through conversation and a daily diary. I welcome and actively encourage parent input into learning journals & planning. I aim to provide a setting that both children and parents will love and enjoy
